FAQ

Q: What’s the difference between massage and Shiatsu?

A: Swedish/Deep Tissue massage is done with oil, using long flowing strokes. Shiatsu is done through loose, comfortable clothing or through a sheet, using techniques like thumb pressure, compression, stretching and percussion. Massage stimulates the lymphatic flow and relaxes muscles with direct pressure. Shiatsu helps unblock stuck energy in body which leads to a feeling of “relaxed energy.” Both modalities can be deeply relaxing and rejuvenating.

Q: How do I make a massage or shiatsu appointment?

A: Click the Book Now button at the top of this page to see available appointment times and to make an appointment. If you don’t see any times that work for your schedule, please call 510-295-3591 and we will do our best to find an appointment for you.

Q: Where can I park?

A: There is free parking available behind the building. You will receive a confirmation email after you make your appointment with more information.

Q: How do I get into the building?

A: The front door code will be included in your confirmation email.

Q: Do you accept credit cards?

A: Yes, all major credit cards are accepted. We use Square secure credit card processing; your card number is encrypted and not recorded by us. You will receive a receipt by email.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: We require at least 24 hours notice to change or cancel your appointment, except in the case of illness or emergency.

Q: I think I’m coming down with a cold. Is it OK to get a massage or Shiatsu?

A: Please cancel your appointment and wait until you are feeling better. Massage or Shiatsu can actually make you feel worse if you’re in the process of getting sick. You could also pass the illness on to me, which I’d prefer to avoid.
